Authenticity Pattern of Commercialized Emblica officinalis Using Thermal Decomposition and Elemental Studies

چکیده
Tremendous raise up on medicinal plants in global market, the marketers are focusing to improve their turnover and hence the feasibility of adulteration using similar physiological and/or chemical propertied materials are being increased. To overcome these quality issues on Emblica officinalis based herbal samples, the present investigation carried out to study thermal decomposition nature and elemental compositions of its genuine sample and market available commercial samples. The TGA-DTA studies provided significant differences in the decomposition percentage of phytochemicals as 28.4% and 21.5% for genuine (AMGS) and market (AMMS) samples respectively. It implies that the beneficial components of E. officinalis are declined while commercialization of this herbal. Also the mineral compositional studies using EDAX and ICPOES opened the micro nutritive elements shortages in commercial samples while comparing the genuine. The obtained results strongly evidenced that these decomposition and elemental studies can be helpful to scrutinize the certainty of E. officinalis samples and may other herbals too.

Impact of Nonthermal Pulsed Electric Field on Bioactive Compounds and Browning Activity in Emblica officinalis Juice
The effect of nonthermal pulsed electric field (PEF) and thermal treatment (900C for 60s) was studied on quality parameters of Emblica officinalis juice for the period of 6 weeks at 40C using monopolar rectangular pulse of 1μs width. The PEF treatment was given using static chamber at 24kV/cm for 500μs. The quality of Emblica officinalis juice was investigated in terms of non enzymatic browning...

Emblica officinalis (Family: Euphorbiaceae) commonly known as Indian Gooseberry or Amla, is widely used in Ayurveda for its memory enhancing, anti-aging, anti-stress and antioxidant properties. This study evaluated the anti-cholinesterase activity of an aqueous extract from the fruits of Emblica officinalis as these are the key enzymes involved in cholinergic transmission. Cholinesterase inhibi...
